Happy St. Patrick's Day All!
I took my son to kindergarten today in my Black Watch Kilt (and Fly Plaid). His teacher asked if I would stay for the start of class and talk about the way I was dressed. I talked about how the Scots, Irish, and Welsh all shared the tradition of wearing kilts and how they were absolutely masculine garb. I talked about the original great kilts, the story of the origin of the kilt pin, flashes, hose, and the sgian dubh. The boys in the class were disappointed I was carrying my "Sgian Don't" (A comb with a knife-like wooden handle I made) instead of a real blade. But the kids seemed interested. I got a lot of smiles and questions as I went out and about town today doing errands with my daughter.
I raise my glass to all you fine folk and wish you a hardy "Cheers"!
