Sgian Brew
Talk of a non-knife sgian dubh on this board a month ago got me to investigating them. I'm not really a gun/knife kind of person, but the thought of one was somewhat appealing.
In any case, I checked out the stuff on Rab's site and commenced to conversing with him. I wish to re-affirm what all others have stated. He is a first-class individual and a joy to deal with.
What we settled on was a carved ebony handle with an older-style bottle opener. I'd take a picture and post it but I haven't yet found my digital camera after our recent move. I hope I don't drive traffic to his site up too much, but here's a link. Mine is SG232. https://www.lochnessorigins.com/acat...gian_Dubh.html
From the time we finished talking about it until it arrived at my home (west coast of BC) from Scotland was only about a week. The craftsmanship is beautiful. I can only imagine how nice the genuine sgian dubhs must be. I can't recommend Rab, his skills and his customer service highly enough. I truly hope to be able to deal with him again.
