Don't want to be the negative one, but to be blunt I don't like them, then that is just me. I hated wearing tube socks so much back then now I need to really talk myself into wearing kilt socks when required. It always seemed a bit silly to me to wear shorts when the temperature was high then wrap your legs in long socks.
If wearing sneakers I'd say just wear something like a bicycling or golf sock.
