High School Prom
So, the time has come for me to escort my favorite young lady to the high school prom. I'm pretty excited about this, but i'm wondering what would be the best thing for me to wear on this special evening. I've considered wearing my full argyll outfit because i think it's a pretty classy look (and I dropped quite a big load of cash on it, and want to get my money's worth...hidden motives.) However, I also think it might be nice to dress in a more "typcial" fashion, because i honestly think my girlfriend(and maybe her family) might appreciate this more, and I certainly am not opposed to wearing tuxedoes and the like--I enjoy wearing them almost as much as the kilt. I am hired fairly regularly to play bagpipes in my local area, so it's not as though my investment will be wasted anyway.
One new idea has occurred to me, and that is to wear my argyll jacket and vest along with a pair of black dress slacks (and a nice shirt and tie, of course). My question is whether this outfit would look "wrong" or "out of place" at a high school prom, as I have very little fashion sense, and have never seen an argyll jacket worn with pants.
I'm gonna try to post some pictures here, sorry for the low quality, I took these pretty quickly and I was literally holding my laptop in some of them because I was using a USB webcam to take them.

And of course, there's always the real deal:
So, I'd appreciate your oppinions/feedback! Thanks you much!
