Temporay Closet shrinkage Solution
I stumbled acros a temporay solution for "closet shrinkage" this afternoon. I have a Lochcarron casual kilt in the Black Stewart Tartan a really nice kilt but I have been unable to wear it due to the fact that ye olde waistline has expanded somewhat ( ). I am starting to take off a few inches but while I'm able to get it on it is still snug. Whilst taking a Sunday afternoon nap it hit me, why not take the extra straps I had for a kilt project and use them to temporarily extend the existing ones! I got up and took the straps and buckles I had and first threaded the new strap through the new buckle to what would be the tightest hole if were sewn in I then took the existing strap and threaded it through to the hole at the end of the old strap. When this was accomplished with all three straps I buckled everything up as normal and had a wearable fit without really changing anything and no sewing. What's nice about his is when the waist shrinks all I need do is remove the extensions and I'm good to go. The only thing it does is give the kilt an extra set of buckles which could be eliminated by using a brad to join the two straps together.
Hope you find this usefull.

Just got a good look at this in the mirror the extra buckle may be too much. I think the use of brads will be better.
