What's up with BLAZN?
I've been sorta busy.
The hand-made kilt Ive been working on is coming along well. There's some rough edges with it, but it's going to be used for RenFaire garb, so it's ok. I just recently finished pleating it. At this point, I need to do the waist band, the canvas reinforcement, and the liner.
I've also finally gotten straps/buckles on my favorite camo kilt:

I got the idea from someone here on the XMarks board. Many thanks to whoever it was!
I've also picked up some new materials for more kilts:
Some 13oz 100% cotton duck, in olive:

And one I just HAD to snag, and I pray it turns out very nicely as a kilt, is this truely awesome looking Hawaiian "Tapa" print 100% cotton material. Nowhere near as heavy as the cotton duck, but it should be heavy enough to work well as a summertime kilt:

In case anyone cares, tapa is the cloth. It's cotton, but it derives its name from its texture which resembles a material that used to be made by Polynesians from the bark of the paper mulberry tree. The pattern is typical of Polynesian warrior dress.
I also saw this faux fur material, which I thought would make a really off the wall kilt (didn't buy any though... it was $16/yd):
