I'm in Key West which is sub-tropical. I have a wool tartan kilt and a black utilikilt. Personally, I would not wear sandals or tennis shoes with a kilt, but thats just me. For casual wear I wear a pair of black Sketchers low rise boots or high black Timberland hiking boots with solid black athletic socks scrunched down (I picked those up at the NEX). For occasions that call for a polo shirt or a shirt and tie I will switch to the kilt hose in cream, lovat blue or black depending on the shirt color. For dress occasions kilt hose and ghillie brogues (sorry Hamish, I'm in the P1M camp on that!). I have found that my wool and poly/wool hose have not been a problem in the warm (hot) weather. Not to worry. You'll find what's right for you...oh..and a kilt flask! You can't go wrong there!
