Or should I say folked? The Australian Nat. Celtic Fest was held from june 9-12 (http://www.nationalcelticfestival.com). The Barleyshakes were lucky enough to be the only group invited from Queensland and I daresay it paid off all round. We were very well recieved I'm proud to say.We even got to be on telly! don't have any links but it assures us a place with the legends in the annals of obscure folk bands.
There was some diverse bands there from trad to punk. We were along the contemporary end of the scale playing little heard tunes, or songs that are either really old or really new.
I was most impressed with the kilted fraternity present! and in bloody freezing temps I was fairly toasty in my tank. Plenty of good yarns with kilted artisans, musicians and punters.
Sessions evrywhere, all centered around this great old three storied hotel/pub we were all staying at.
Here's a few pics but there's more on our site, see link with my signature.

To say I was hungover in this shot is to say the Beatles was a band with potential or Charles Manson is very naughty or Steve Martin has been known to tell a few good gags from time to time. You get the idea.

and eating toast to soak up the booze...
