Here are two not very flattering photos of me and the 13 oz, 5-yard, MacLeod of Harris Hunting/Modern.

Here I have coordinated it with a pale yellow/cream tiny-striped shirt, and cream hose held up by the new green flashes. I wore this to Target tonight to find a new battery for my digicam, and then to dinner at Chipotle, where I got a "nice kilt" from a big burly guy who looked like he could compete in the Highland games.

The shoes have been among my favorites for several years - I've had them resoled once - and now that I've started wearing kilts, I like them even more. These Sketchers are sort of shoes, sort of sandals, and they sort of resemble ghillie's in that the socks show through.

As you can see, the pleats on this kilt are not deep at all, and there is some caving in the back. This O'Neil of Dublin casual sort of reminds me of the Stillwater standard, and I guess I got it for around the same price. There is no lining inside the fell, and I think it sags a little in the rear, on account of there being no stiffness. It is doubtful anyone would be aware of these matters but me.

Nevertheless, it is good for casual wear around town for dinners and such.

Regards from the Poor House,
Rex.
