St. Mary's Loch and the Grey Mare's Tail

I took the camera along again on today's hill walk, in the hope of encouraging some of you guys to visit Scotland.

On my drive to the Grey Mair's Tail car park I passed St. Mary's Loch, 45 minutes drive from my house.

This statue of James Hogg, the Ettrick Shepherd overlooks St. Mary's Loch.

Loch of the Lowes is immediately above St. Mary's Loch and linked to it by a very short river.

Traditional British K6 telephone box, where Loch of the Lowes meets St. Mary's Loch. And yes it still works - I 'phoned Ann from here.

A few miles further on, the Grey Mare's Tail is a series of waterfalls, the highest of which is 200 feet.

The Grey Mare's Tail from further up the trail.

By now its a long way back down to the car park.
