I just took my new FK out for an event today and was quite pleased. I have had an excellent time working with Steve at Freedom Kilts and he was quite gracious about my jonesing. I have the cargo model with one pocket on the right hand side and two slash pockets. There is not back pocket, but had I known that there would be the patch anyway I might have gone for one, if just for my wallet. The Carhaart gold fabric is nice, if a bit scratchy out of the box, I know it will eventually fade into a soft, iron-like, piece of fabric. My good friend was having a Bris for his new son and I leapt at the occasion to show off my new custom kilt. I was, no great surprise, the only kilted one there. In all it was a non issue, I answered some questions about why I wear a kilt, the meaning of the skean dubh and other little things. One thing is clear though, if you are shy, Kilts might not be a fashion choice. As with my other kilts I will write a review later, after I have put the garment through it's paces. I think this leads to a fairer, more contemplative review. However, from the woman at the book store (Wow, that is beautiful; where did you get it?) to my friends (See, I told you he was gonna wear one, now pay up) I have had nothing but positive comments all day. I will now begin the process of measuring and ordering a second kilt from Steve. I cannot reccomend him enough. Between him and Robert at Rkilts I may never have to buy any other contemporary kilt again. Kilted in the Bronx
