After reading Ham's recent contribution to the other thread I started on being kilted at the ballet, I noticed in the program from the recent gala that ballet tech ohio performing arts association is producing La Sylphide, September 22-23 at Aronoff's Jarson-Kaplan.

Is there any interest in doing drinks/dinner at Nicholson's followed by the performance across the street on Saturday 9/23?

The story of La Sylphide, if you recall, is set in Scotland, and to drive the point home (since one stage looks a lot like the others), it features kilts.

Now this could be an incredibly lame idea, going to see a ballet in kilts because it's a story involving Scotland and kilts. On the other hand, a lot of non-kilted people would probably get it. It's also worth noting that the company is actually a school, so it involves a lot of young people not quite ready for Lincoln Center, but the price is usually reasonable. The principals are usually professionals, though, and I think it's good to support aspiring kids in this way.

Cincinnati folks and others in the surrounding region: is there any interest in this idea? Interested lurkers, if there are any, can reach me at the_ID_I_use_here_on_xmarks (at) fuse.net .

Thanks,
