    Scenes from the Magic Kingdom

Taking a cue from the mighty Rex Tremende here are some moments from our trip to Disneyland.

Day One: Afternoon in Disney's California Adventure Park, SWK Standard McCleod

Two women whisper to each other
    First Woman: "German?"
    Second Woman: "I think so"
    (they approach me)
    First Woman: Deutsch?
    Me: Scottish American

Young Boy grabs his mother's arm and points
Young Boy: MOM MOM MOM! That guy is wearing one of those Scottish Skirts!

A variety of smiles, thumbs ups, and "nice kilt" comments follow me through the rest of the afternoon. A most pleasant day overall.

Day One: Day in Disneyland , UK Grey Mocker

I get some hispanic folks and african-american "rapper looking wannabes" look at me scornfully. Some point, stare and snigger at me throughout the day. I ignore them because they are ignorant.

I didn't get a lot of direct comments on the kilt. I did however with this outfit and the following day's one get a lot of people assuming that I worked there. After a few hours of explaining "Sorry Ma'am, I'm not an employee." I give up and just direct people to where they need to go and answer their questions. I think it has to do with the aussie slouch hat and the long sleeved shirt more than anything.

Later that evening changed back into my SWK for an evening with my lovely wife. In the elevator of the Haunted Mansion I was approached by two lovely lassies who were very complimentary and one asked "please say something. I really want to hear the accent!". I apologized that I was only from Northern California and my San Jose accent wasn't quite as cool as a Highlander (where is Pour1Malt when you need him!). They laughed and then the room plunged into darkness.

Day Three: Last Day in Disneyland , SportKilt Olive

Not nearly as many stares and twice as many people approached me as if I was an employee. Several thumbs up from various people. Sinbad wore his SportKilt in the last evening and people just gushed over how cute he was.

All in all a fun vacation.

    The coolest moment?

Little Xena meeting Captain Jack Sparrow. She threw her arms around his neck and kissed him on the cheek. "I love you Captain Jack Sparrow".
He smiled a very big smile and said "I love you too dearie"

    Cheers All
