Official Naming
After years of trying to think of a suitable name for our property and dwelling, the name was chosen, and the sign was erected today, with a wee celebration (any excuse).
DunCalden is another spelling of Dunkeld. Dunkeld is a place in Scotland that became reknown after Scotlands first king, Kenneth MacAlpin moved the "spiritual heart" of Scotland from Iona, on account of the Viking raids and it's isolation from speedy defense.
The name means "Fort of the Celts, or Fort of the Scots".
Dunkeld is also a place in Australia.
