Returned to York from Dumfries region last night, and walked in to my local for my stay.
Immediate (friendly) comments:
Hey, we're in England - not Scotland! Kilts are for North of the border!!
My response:
Be it so. If you change the name of this pub from Tam O'Shanter (yes, that's the name of the pub... hehe) to John Bull, I'll go find my trousers.
General response:
Good one, you got us there.
Landlady:
First drink compliments of tam O'Shanter
Gentleman at bar:
Second drink on me. I'm Scottish, and you make me proud.
