I'm new to Kilts know They are cost $$$$

I want to make a kilt just a good plain color traditional with the colors of the confederate calvery colors pretty much all grey with a black waste band. I also want to do buttons going in a v from top to bottom like the confederate general "BDU" jackets in the front, and maybe even an original st Andrews cross not the battle flag. Utili-kilt does this but it only goes about half way and is buttons I want to do period replaca's I also want a box plete. I plan on duplicating these and wearing them all the time instead of pants except when removing asbestos and other stuff. I have allways wanted a kilt but 500+ is way to much I know that utili-kilt has one for 200 but if you make it your self it means more. My family history is McSpadden, McSpaden,McCLain, and also Palmer. they all pretty much came over in the 1700's and had a real thing for the long dark haired cherokee natives and I ended up about 1/2 cherokee and 1/2 Scotch/Irish I look like Erick the Red when MY beard and hair is grown out but I stay clean shaven from the neck up for th Resporators. I'm Home bound for about a month due to a spinal fusion so I want to do this now to occupie my time to much womenly shows on the TV during the day. have been looking on the net and seen a few sites but it is the waist and hip taper that is throwing me. the boxing I under stand, and I can sew. Isew up caving gera bags slinggs , and what knot. If someone could help I would be foe ever in your debt. I also would like to hang around I have a lot of clan family's one of the being the Hanna's.
