Here is the gen on the Royal Air Force tartan. Having served in World War11 with the "boys & girls" in blue, I decided to design this tartan, as a tribute to all those who served & are still serving in this particular arm of the British Forces. There is no restriction on who can wear it, as sons & daughters of those who have served in the R.A.F. are entitled to wear it, as are any persons who respect the efforts of the Royal Air Force. I hold the copyright, and the cloth can only be supplied by me or my franchised company.

And, the current consensus is to pleat to the white stripe.
