I am in the process of designing and making outfits for a groom and groomsmen. (Yes, a daunting task!) He wants to wear a doublet and has chosen the GT styled doublet as offered by Geoffrey (Tailor). However, he dislikes the kilt belt (He claims it looks like something out of WWE! The audacity! Oh well...). I did some research and found some commercial pictures of people wearing a doublet with a tucked-in Highland Cravat instead of the usual lace Jabot and cuffs. More importantly, since it was an early 19th Century styled outfit (as opposed to a Jacobean style), they were not wearing kilt belts!
So, tell me, kilties, do you think this will look acceptable?
