Rick Steve's Travels in Europe
I think it was Saturday night. Rick Steve's is one of the Travel Experts that has a show on PBTV.
He was in Scotland this time. He hit a few highlights, but the most interesting part was that he spent a portion of the show with a local in a kilt. They were shown going into a local restaurant and discussing the cuisine that was a blend of Scots and French originating from the Auld Aliance. They left the restaurant and went to a pub and showed the one half were it was more of a rowdy bar and then the "gentleman" side with velvet booths.
He did at one point over dinner ask "Why he wears the kilt?". The gentleman replied that it was a national pride statement to him. I don't recall if he mentioned comfort. He was wearing a Lovat Green Argyle jacket with his kilt.
I almost forgot, they also went to a distillery where they showed Rick the difference between drinking keg strength whiskey and then added a bit of water to it to "release " the flavors in the whiskey. I don't recall the distillery.
