Hated to interupt his phone call!

Yesterday I was dressed in my new Clergy Tartan, Clergy collared shirt, Prince Charlie and was feeling rather good to head to my wedding. I entered the hotel elevator to find a man and woman, mid 50's maybe, she leaning against the side wall and he against the back on his cell phone, talking loudly in a "still a little happy from the bar the night before" slur...

As I entered, he gives me the once over and says loudly: This is a great town, some guy in a dress just came on the elevator". His wife quickly dropped her head.

I smiled and said "Excuse me my good man, this would be a kilt".

Please let me preface, I am peaceful man and I teach patience to all... However...But...Alas....

As soon as he paused from his conversation I continued "and furthermore, I'm not sure where you're from BUT wherever you may travel, anywhere in the world you may go, never, ever, piss of a Scotsman".

I turned back to his wife who simply winked, gave me small smile and under her breathe lipped the words "Thank you".

I could tell he found a new sense of understanding and having a 270 pound kilted clergyman get in his face was completley unexpected......

I think back and wonder if I could of handled this better, could I have turned the other cheek, should I have just kept my mouth shut......Naw......

The best part of this story was after they exited the elevator on their floor, a woman and her daughter walked in and she said: "Now there's a sharp dressed man". This was within earshot of the idiot.....it was if it was all planned.

    Just wanted to share...........

    Have a great weekend......
