Kilted at what was to be a kilted wedding
Some theater people got engaged last year on stage after a play. This year they were married on the same stage in the theater I volunteer for. It was supposed to be a kilted wedding but they just couldn't get the kilts so went traditional. I asked the bride if I could still wear my tan mocker, hose, flashes, and white shirt and tie. I was hoping my kilt from USA Kilts would have arrived, but that will have to wait. I said, "I don't want to upstage you." She replied, "Oh, you won't upstage me, honey. Wear your kilt!"
So I did. One kid waiting for us to open the theater and part of the wedding party, said, "Wow, I never saw anyone wearing a kilt before." And one of tech guys said, "I never see you wearing pants." We all laughed because we were thinking that he never saw me with pants on and no kilt either. He finally got it after I rephrased what he said. Then he said, "Now I see where this is going!"
Then at the reception, another guy comes up to me and shows me a picture of himself, a piper in a kilt. He is from down state, and said if he had known someone else was going to wear a kilt, he would have too. That is the second time that has occurred. So all you kilt wearers that aren't sure if you should wear your kilt, WEAR IT, and soon there may be two or more kilted at the same event.
DALE.
