Christmas Rose

Rose in the garden at lunchtime today. Not a prize specimen but unusual here for 15th December. Roses in December are not that uncommon on the west coast of Scotland, but we are forty miles inland and 550 feet above sea level and I've never seen roses in bloom around here at this time of year before; they die back when the frosts start which is normally in late October. Even in the middle of the day it was so dull that I needed to use flash to get this picture.
