Dressed to Kilt (#1)
Most people spend the week before Christmas doing their frantic last minute shopping. I'm one of those people that everyone hates that gets their shopping done waaay early, so I was done already. But I've spent too much time on the forums with you people, so what did I do the week before Christmas? I made two kilts, two matching shoulder plaids, and two matching flashes sets. One kilt, shoulder plaid, and flashes set was for me, and the other was for my bro. (His pics are posted under the thread titled Dressed to Kilt #2.) I'll be posting in the DIY thread with some of the gory details for those interested, but here are some pics of me in full garb, as dressed up as I can get with what I've got so far.
First, a good ol' front view:
Next, a side view:
And now a "foot on a chair to show my pleatwork" pose:
This is a closeup of the pleats:
Here's the details of my sporran, which I got for Christmas and love:
And finally (of course), my best Hamish:
This last one is me and my bro together:
(My big little brother; he's younger than me, believe it or not.)
Each kilt/shoulder plaid/flashes outfit represents about 20 hrs. work, give or take. Lemme know what you think, and don't pull any punches!
Thanks all.
