My rides.
The Merrells in particular can go places your fancy motorcycles and 4x4s can not. You'll notice the treads there. I can get traction on most anything. Mud, snow, ice, human beings, even greasy tile floors I cling like glue.
They all get great gas mileage. So far, I think the tank is still full from when I bought them new. I'd never had to stop at a station yet for a fill up.
The old ratty looking brown clogs are especially nice for long lazy Sunday drives in the spring, summer, and fall. (Winter too, but their lack of traction leaves a lot to be desired) As an added bonus, these look splendid with kilts, but some purists may lament my use of these with black leathers and sporran. Please note the classic timeless European styling and the quiet grace of the copper trim.
The black sporty models are still new and still trying to prove themselves to the old guard. The old guard doesn't like them much.
