A suggestion: Storrington Kilts Weekend
This has been at the back of my mind for a while and I need to run it past you all before spending any time on developing any detailed plans.
If I were to organise a Kilts Weekend, based on my home here in Storrington, how many of you would be seriously interested in joining me for a few days? It is probably too late now for this to take place in 2007, so I am thinking ahead to early June 2008.
At that time, the countryside is at its most attractive, the weather is usually reliable (pleasantly warm but not too hot) and there are many interesting places we can visit - Portsmouth's Historical Naval Dockyard, Fishbourne Roman Palace at Chichester, Arundel Castle, Brighton's Royal Pavilion, Petworth House, walks on the South Downs, visits to famous gardens, etc. There are also some great Country Pubs in the area - and just imagine the photo opportunties in my own garden!!
Accommodation: my home is smallish and I can acommodate no more than one couple, but there are a number of B&Bs in and around the village and within a few miles radius - I could easily draw up a list.
Very obviously, I am not looking for firm commitments at this stage, but I should like some indication of whether such an event would be welcomed by 'The Fraternity' and, if so, roughly what numbers we might be.
