I found this site quite by accident while searching for anything about the Arctic and Antarctic Tartans that i might use in my little business. I am not Scottish, I am German/Romain (hence the gypsy part of my name). For the Celitc part of my name, in the past I have done a lot of calligraphy in that style (and continue to do so). I have long had a draw to the "Misty Isles" and wonder if in a previous life I may have lived there (if you believe in that sort of thing).

I have several friends that play pipes and drums in the Windsor Police Pipe Band. And it one of them that took me to the Higland Games in Alma, Michigan several years ago. I saw and heard so many great things there including Clan Badges. I looked at them and thought, I could make a pin, in color, and who knows what else. So with the music of the pipes in my ears, and ideas flying around in my head, the Celtic Gypsy was born! Over the years I have developed a Clan Badge pin and several other products which will be on a web site soon.

Which brings me to the Tartans i mentioned above. In creating the badges and other items, I have read and collected all kinds of information about Clans, Septs, Tartans, Badges and other little tidbits. I am currently looking for any and all info about Clan Plants (which were used for identifying the various clans and septs). Anyway, I found the Arctic Tartan first and continued to look for more info and found my way here. I was quite impressed (read thru the thread on Clan Mottos) and decided to join.

Hope to learn more while I am here.
