Edinburgh ("Auld Reekie") Pictures #1
Having arrived in Edinburgh we checked into our hotel on Princes St.
Our room was at the rear looking towards George St but it still gave a couple of nice views.
The Dome on George St - note the seagull!
The spire of a George St Church - St Andrew's if I remember rightly which is next to the George Hotel where I stayed in October.
Looking over Princes St Gardens towards the Scott Monument and the Balmoral (formerly the North British) Hotel. It looks like the ground was being cleared ready for spring flowers.
The Scott Monument, a real Gothic delight.
The rear of the Royal Scottish Academy.
And at last a kiltie! Note the interesting hose and flashes.
