Today being Tartan Day in the US, I wore my Scottish American tartan. It was also grocery shopping day with my wife at Wal-Mart. While walking down an aisle, a woman behind me asked (in a distinct Scottish accent), "What tartan is that?".

Turns out she and her husband had moved here from Glasgow in 1995. Her grandfather had served in the Black Watch Regiment during the WWI and was killed in combat.

It was so interesting talking to this lady, I forgot I was grocery shopping. My wife had continued on to pick up some items, then came back and patted me on the back to remind me. Several people knew it was Tartan Day and complimented me on my kilt. Of course every day is Tartan Day for me because a kilt is my daily attire. But today was extra special.
