McGonagall -- appropriate tartan?
One of my friends is kicking over the idea of coming up with a Professor McGonagall costume for this summer's releases of the final book and next movie (which releases happen within a week of each other). She asked me about Tartan, and in my research, I've found that there was an actual historical person of this family name, William Topaz McGonagall, widely aledged to have been the worst-ever poet in the English language.
I can't seem to locate a tartan for W. T. McGonagall, but he was born in Edinburgh, and worked as an adult in Dundee. (As an aside, he worked as a handweaver, and it seems odd that he wouldn't've designed a tartan for himself).
We've no real clue as to the birthplace of Minerva McGonagall, other than the obvious fact that she's Scotish, so my friend and I were wondering what district tartans of Edinburgh or Dundee might be appropriate?
(We even looked at the actress playing McGonagall in the films, but she was born in Essex. Drats).
