Lovely late Georgian building at the end of Coney St, York.

Turn the corner there and you see this street leading towards York Minster.

Going for a cruise on the Ouse (main river in York) you see this large Ferris wheel, not as large as its cousin in London but still fairly impressive. It is right next door to the National Rail Museum.

York railway station from the River Ouse. It lies roughly halfway between London and Edinburgh.

Mum looking happy despite the cold and rainy weather. Clutching her camera that had kilted piccies of me inside!

Bridge over the spot where the River Fosse flows into the Ouse. The bridge can open to allow boats to pass as the Fosse is navigable for a few miles but these days it's pretty rare that anything bigger than a canoe would enter it.

Another street that leads towards the Minster.

And another street, this time showing the central tower.

More to come!
