Please no one get me wrong!

Acrylic is a great fiber. If Worsted (that's pulling and straightening before spinning), spun into yarn nice and tight, and then woven just like kilt wool, Acrylic has the capability of being the best choice of all the man-made fibers to rival Wool.

The P/V from Marton Mills is woven this way, and right now is the best looking and feeling alternative to Tartan Wool.

I have yet to find a mill that does this with Acrylic however. It does not seem that any mill is spinning yarns from man-made fibers thick enough to produce the weight per linear yard that we are used to in good Tartan Wool.
