Great pictures, McMurdo. Yes SCD is great fun, especially in the open air at this time of year.
What I noticed - because it is an issue for me - is that all the kilted dancing men were wearing standard (long) kilt hose. (The one man I spotted in shorts had bare legs.)
I find it far too hot to dance energetic SCD in the summer with hose on. But I get a lot of stick from my wife and daughter when I leave the hose off. They think it looks too girly to have bare legs (and feet) but I don't see why men should not have the option of sensible wear for hot weather. The dancers we normally dance with have got used to my "eccentricity" - so much so that they will remark, as they did last night, if I turn up for a summer dance session wearing hose. (I had to take the hose off halfway through because I was getting too warm.)
I get the same comments from wife and daughter when I wear Tevas (bare legged, of course) with a casual kilt out and about. It doesn't stop me though!
