It's actually quite comfortable and provides great lumbar support.
USAK will make your casual kilt to whatever length you tell them to. If you want a low rider kilt to fit like your UK, measure your waist at that point and then the drop from that point and that's what your kilt will be. If you want it to ride up under your ribs, give them those measurements. Somewhere in between? Well you get the idea
