We are in the process of building a home back, $1.8 million. The owner hooked a battery charger to a car, started the car, and left. Pure negligence, house was under insured, but we are putting it back.

While FEMA was playing politics, the insurance companies set up claims to pay that exceeded all homeowners premiums collected by the companies since they started selling insurance in Louisiana & Mississippi.

Insurance carriers accepted all the claims at the World Trade Center even though the cause was excluded. And, the policy on the center had expired.

The department of insurance is a consumer protection agency, not an ally of the insurance companies.

Sorry you feel the way you do, but to denigrate an industry that has done so much good is unfair and unnecessary.
