Since this thread is being dusted off and given new life, I thought I'd chime in with a correction. The kilt pictured at the top of this thread is not in any of the Scott tartans.

It's hard to tell for certain from an image this small, but if anything I'd say it was the Kerr tartan.

For comparison, here is the Scott tartan that comes the closest to it, the red Scott:

The other Scott tartans (green Scott, black and white Scott, hunting Scott, Sir Walter Scott, etc.) don't even come close.
