I'm a big guy too and my arms, belly, shoulders, etc. don't fit the standard size. If I get the jacket large enough for my belly and chest then the arms are six inches too long.

So, trusting my kiltmaker Kathy Lare, I ordered a made to measure grey lovat Argyll Jacket from Lochcarron. She took my measurements at a Highland Games a couple years a go, but by the time I ordered we had my girlfriend remeasure. Jacket came out perfect. $334.00 for a MADE TO MEASURE. Its made by Lochcarron then shipped over from Scotland.

Liked it so well I ordered a green one. Its on its way now.

But, point is, for us large guys with a different shape its worth it for made to measure over off the rack.

Give Kathy a call or an email. www.kathyskilts.com

Here's mine.

Takes a while of course, but came with staghorn buttons. And, Lochcarron even sent me swatches to pick the material for the second Argyll Jacket from.

Kathy Lare is in Albuquerque, wonderful lady. That's my suggestion for us big guys who don't fit off the rack sizing.
