Dumfries and Galloway Pictures #3
As promised, here is a selection of pictures of my travels when I stayed at Ferintosh last week. The full set will be uploaded to my photo blog site at www.fotothing.com/cleftref.
Oops! I missed this shot taken in the Ferintosh garden where we enjoyed candles, incense and whiskey!
Another shot at Sweetheart Abbey. It was named this by the monks after the Abbey was founded in 1273 by Lady Devorgilla of Galloway in memory of her husband John Balliol and who was later buried there with his embalmed heart.
Even though a ruin, it's still impressive.
Looking down the nave.
Village street opposite the Abbey - it leads to a Corn Mill that, alas I didn't have the time to visit.
MacLellan's Castle, Kirkcudbright. This is one of those places that you have to pronounce right! KerCooBree!
Plaque giving some of the Castle's history.
More to come!
