Great Pics CS! I've been spending one or two weekends a year up on Mt. Mingus since 1990.

I love it there and have even arranged for my ashes to be scattered on Mt. Mingus after I'm dead. A most spiritual place for me.

I'm usually across the road and up the hill from Potato Patch at the Methodist camp. A bunch of us 12 steppers have been renting the camp every year for over 20 years and we fan out hiking from there.

Always amazes me how its surrounded by "Prescott, California" on one side and "Scottsdale North" (Sedona), "Rottonwood" (Cottonwood), "Little Sturgis" (Jerome) and Camp Verde on the other, yet it still is a haven for wildlife. I've seen bald eagles, golden eagles, red tail hawks, elk, javalina, those ladybug swarms, and most every type of critter there is up on Mingus. Love to sit in the cave that overlooks the Verde Valley and just soak it in, or hike up to North Point and gaze at the San Franciscos.

A great place to connect with the real world.

Me on Mingus Mountain. Red Gordon USA Kilts casual (sorry, was a special order deal a while back).
