Bob Who?
No offence meant, sir -- Since you are a Marine, I know you appreciate unit esprit-de-corps and history. Of all the branches of service I worked with in Park Service (Battlefield staff rides), the Marines were second to none in knowing their history, traditions and customs.
But please do not discount Bob Martin's work because you may disagree with it. It is a wonderful reference book for the kilted gentleman. It's worth checking out.
BTW, check out Ben Silver, a purveyor of gentleman's neckwear in South Carolina -- I believe they sell as USMC regimental (striped) tie.
Regards,
Todd
