Restless Natives
This movie has just been released on dvd for North America. It was made in 1984 and I've been waiting since about then to see it properly.
I've seen parts on tv. Finally got a bootleg of a tv tape from eBay. Used VHS of this movie was going for $150. It's now available from Amazon in widescreen, fantastic.
It's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.
So, I lied to you, there's no kilts in it that I saw. I'm just not really sure where to post this so I put it here.
The movie is filmed in Edinburgh, and features the park I used to play in. The apartment must be near ours, it has the same castle view. Our street gang tags are visible (Bar-Ox, I guess they got pretty bad later on).
Great soundtrack by Big Country, I nominated the title song for the Scottish Anthem (don't know how many votes it got).
What will you get out of the movie? Well, fantastic views of the Highlands, Edinburgh and Glasgow are there. You'll also get a view of Scottish life and moral/ethical values. Hear different accents. Hopefully, you'll get a good laugh.
