Team Gung Haggis Fat Choy entered in the Cranberry Festival Canoe race last week. It was a fun race and I am looking forward in doing it again next year.

We did badly in the first heat because we were rookies in the canoe. We are used to Dragonboat racing and the canoe was very strange at first. But we got used to it after the fi2 500 meter races. We won the B final by 35 seconds in that 2,000 meter race. The final wasn't just a boat race because we had to fish a pumpkin out of the river and one paddler (me in this case) needed to get out of the boat for a foot race with a glass of cranberry juice placed on the tip of the paddle.

Our lead stroke, Nicole, fished out a pumpkin as the boat was moving full force.

I lost my footing when I got out of the boat. I dove into the water in my kilt before I charged up the beach like a marine
