Nothing earthshattering to report, but I just had a pleasant day kilted. Actually I've been kilted all day at various highland games, but this was in the "real" world.

Black shoes, oatmeal hose, black flashes, SWK Standard Black Stewart, Oconee belt and sporran hangers, black Buzz Kidder sporran, oatmeal short sleeved knit shirt.

Drove with some friends to a Lutheran Lecture Series in Newton NC. Had some positive comments. My friend met me with "I thought we had come to pick up a guy but we don"t see him". He's seen me in a kilt before so I ignored his slight attempt at humor.

At the lecture a lady asked my if today was a special occasion. I told her no, I was just wearing my kilt. One man asked me what family tartan it was, we had a short discussion and he said at the end that I should keep my colors flying. Another guy said that he had never seen a Scottish Lutheran before. I told him he was right, I should be a Presbyterian.

Going home my friend told me that he respected me for being brave enough to wear the kilt. I admitted that the first time or two it was a bit disconcerting, but now it's ok.

Nothing negative, just a good day.
