A Better Way to Tie Your Brogues
I've always been amazed that many are taught the wrong way to tie their shoes. I was. I noticed the other day that one of my Ghillie Brogues kept coming undone. I then realized that because it was on my left shin I was looping my first twist the wrong way.
For right handed people go right under left and then right over left and you will have bows and laces that not only stay tied longer but also look better. If you use two identical motions to tie your shoes, you are making a granny knot that turns sideways and comes undone quickly.
I found this little tutorial on the web. http://www.shoeknots.com/
