Guarantee, ordering a UK in your pant waist size is gonna be too small for sure...way too small...unless you've happened upon some unique honestly sized pant maker...
Only way I'd trust using pants as an indicator is taking a pair of pants that fit well and that you wear low, then measuring them. I doubt the result will match the labeled size.
Don't let your expectations create a problem. Be brave, follow instructions from the manufacturer.

Thats actually what I have done. I followed the instructions with only 1 difference... I had another person measure me.
I'll be damned if I fit into a "husky" 36 with a 42 inch hip line.
just to be sure, I'll order an inch too big and wear a belt. I also am looking at it cut to 21.5 inches because I am a short tubby guy. haha. and my Stillwater is a bit long with the 24 inch anyways.
