2. The thrifty is built just like the economy, as far as the pleats go. Depending on whether it's pleated to stripe or sett, you can handle it the same way. What's the tartan?

You can also hem it, if you're going to keep it. However, be sure you've got it high enough before you try to shorten it. Get it up above the navel, and consider shaping it to your hips in back; it'll probably stay put better.

I find the thrifty is nice just to wrap on around the house, but it can be dressed up, too.
