It's bad enough to jones for a new kilt you've ordered, but it's just downright cruel to receive a package from the kiltmaker only to find that the box not only doesn't contain your kilt, but a kilt made for someone else, in the very same tartan you ordered.

I was enticed to order a 4 yard 16 oz kilt from Burnett's and Struth in the BC tartan (fellow Northwesterners). Who could resist such a deal, and also have it promised before Christmas. Imagine my horror when upon opening the box and beholding such beautiful colors, then looking for the label with my name next to "custom made for...Macman"? Huh. Actually it listed his real name. I remember him mentioning his last name previously and that he had posted he ordered one of the same tartan so I PM'd him to let him know. Both Macman and Burnett's and Struth asked if it fit me, but unfortunately, it was 3 inches too small.

It seems that since the word was put out here, Burnett's and Struth have been inundated with orders from X Markers. A little confusion in the shipping department ensued. Since I knew who it belonged to, they asked if I would be willing to forward the kilt on. Of course I agreed. No sense in delaying our kilts longer than necessary.

I got a PM from Macman this afternoon and he received my kilt as well, so we are exchanging gifts before Christmas.

All I can say is - Dude, nice kilt!!
