Portsmouth (VA) Scottish Walk
Unfortunately I won't be able to attend this event, but I saw it in the paper and thought I'd post it up here in case . I'm terrible at keeping up with events on the South Side, so I apologize if this is common knowledge on the other side of the James.
Anyway, on New Year's Eve there's an Olde Town Scottish Walk in Portsmouth. It only lasts from 3:30-5:30, but it's free, so that should bring out the Scot in all of us! There's a Pipe-led Scottish Walk, caroling, mini-concerts and it also mentions whisky tasting in past years!
More info can be found here: http://www.virginia.org/site/descrip...p?attrID=17265
I know the day may not be the best to travel, but I seem to remember seeing a few people from the area so I figured I'd post it. Hope someone gets to enjoy the chance to stroll around the Olde Town area kilted and in (hopefully) beautiful weather!
