It's about time, eh?
After months of reading this forum, researching my heritage, 4 tartan baseball caps and 7 tartan neckties I finally bought my first actual KILT.
The delay has been due to my wife's objections all along.
I received my Stillwater Thrifty Black Watch kilt on New Year's Eve day, 12/31, and was able to wear it around the house much of the day. I appreciate the advise from here to start with an inexpensive kilt to get-used-to how to move, sit, etc. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the outfit looks pretty good: kilt, belt, sporran, kilt pin, and own socks scrunched down.
Even walked out to get the newspaper in 38 degree weather.... long driveway.
The rhythm of the knotted sporran ties with a fast stride was a hoot!
Anyway, I'm looking for more opportunities to wear it around, get used to it, and hopefully, get my wife more used to the idea as well. Wish me well.
