With so much discussion in our kilted circle about making sgians, I've developed an itch to try it. I considered buying traditional blades a few times but just never did. I stumbled on this little beauty while digging through some of my old military gear (This was one of 7 I would carry, some one was sure to get a little surprise if things ever got "close" ) I figured it would make a good, unique candidate so I cut the molded, nylon handle off at work today and here's what was inside.

I may need to weld a bit more tang to it to reinforce the handle. It has about 1-1/2" from the back of the finger grip to the tip of the tang.

I've got a piece of Zebra wood I've had for years I plan to use as the handle. I want to pick up some metal accents to work in as well. Whether I'll use pewter, brass or silver I don't know yet.

It's taken me a couple of years to get this far, so I'll post back eventually as I progress
