Xmarks and the nature of DIY
I have been running around from leather shop to various craft stores in my kilt today gathering supplies for my great DIY extravaganza today when I had an epiphany. I WOULD NEVER BE DOING ANY OF THIS BEFORE XMARKS. I have always been thrifty and good with my hands but sewing to me was like a foreign language, and while I like leatherwork and had helped a friends dad in his shop from time to time, I had never been inspired.
X Marks gave me the inspiration I needed to not only dig up my heritage but also to be active in it. I now sew, I do leatherwork, whats next? The sky is the limit. Thank you to all the wonderful forum members and especially DIYers for motivating me as well as offering helpful insight and support. This place rocks.
So onto the list. This weekend I intend to finish my black day wear sporran in the Rob Roy style and I also want to get a beret that will fit me sewn up and blocked.* Past that one day I want to tackle an X-Kilt as well as doing custom tailoring on pants to make them more durable for riding my motorcycle.
Thanks again!
